The Diocesan Chancellor of Sokoto Catholic Diocese, Very Rev. Father Cornelius Tagwai is lifeless.
The cleric died within the early hours of Friday.
The Diocesan Chancellor died after receiving medical therapy outdoors Nigeria for months.
Saying the demise of Father Cornelius, the appearing Diocesan Chancellor, Rev. Fr. Nuhu Illiya, mentioned Bishop Bishop Kukah requested for prayers for the repose of his soul.
The message despatched to the laity and members of the Catholic group by Rev. Fr. Nuhu reads partially:
“Good morning Very Rev./Rev. Fathers and Sisters. I’ve been mandated by the Bishop, Most Rev. Dr. Matthew Hassan Kukah, to tell you of the passing on to glory, of our brother and priest, Very Rev. Fr. Cornelius Tagwai, the Chancellor of the diocese.
“The unhappy occasion passed off within the early hours of Friday. The Bishop has equally requested that prayers be provided for the peaceable repose of his soul.
“The burial preparations shall be communicated to you in the end. Might the soul of our brother relaxation in peace,” the message learn.
