Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has launched poverty alleviation and empowerment programmes for indigent residents in three native authorities areas.
The councils are Ibeno, Onna and Eket.
Underneath his administration’s ARISE Compassionate Houses Initiative (ACHI), the governor began the intervention scheme by donating a furnished bungalow to a poor beneficiary at Iwuochang village in Ibeno LGA.
The governor, represented by the attorney-general and commissioner for justice, Mr Uko Udom (SAN), handed the home with solar-powered lighting, a borehole, and an empowerment bundle of N500,000 for a enterprise start-up to assist the household of Inyang.
