The Kingmakers of Kano Emirate have been summoned by State Authorities, setting the stage for the formal announcement of the brand new Emir of Kano.
The event adopted the Thursday’s dissolution of the 5 Emirate Councils within the State and the removing of their their Emirs appointed by former Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje.
On the time of submitting this report, two outstanding kingmakers had been seen arrival the Authorities Home, Kano. They had been led to the Governor’s workplace by Chief of Workers to the Governor, Shehu Wada Shagagi.
Amongst them had been Alhaji Yusuf Nabahani, the Madakin Kano and head of the kingmakers, and Makaman Kano, Alhaji Abdullahi Sarki Ibrahim.
Governor Abba Yusuf is alleged to be in a closed-door assembly with the State’s legislators.
LEADERSHIP reviews that the lawmakers earlier on Thursday repealed the State’s Emirates legislation enacted by former Governor Ganduje in 2019 that had led to the appointment of the 5 Emirs, restructuring the previous Kano Emirate configuration.
