Troops of the Nigerian Military have arrested 9 Yoruba Nation agitators, who invaded Oyo State Secretariat in Agodi space of ibadan, the State capital, on Saturday.
A press release by the Director of Military Public Relations, Main Common Onyema Nwachukwu, stated the agitators for the Yoruba Nation wearing international navy camouflage with berets and armed with harmful weapons in buses and motorbikes attacked the State Secretariaton on Saturday morning.
Nonetheless, he stated troops who responded to the incident engaged them in a shootout and dispersed them.
He stated: “Upon encountering personal troops, the Yoruba Nation adherents engaged the troops in a shootout.Troops, utilising superior firepower, efficiently subdued the attackers, who subsequently retreated in disarray. On account of this engagement, 9 members of the irredentist group had been apprehended, whereas one Semi Automated Pump Motion rifle and ammunition had been recovered.”
Common Nwachukwu stated troops had been on the monitor of different fleeing adherents, including that the state of affairs was below management.
