A twenty-five years outdated safety guard, Daniel Amedu, was on Monday arraigned earlier than an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Courtroom in Ibadan over accusation bordering on N4.2 million diesel theft.
Amedu was charged with conspiracy, theft and negligence to which he pleaded not responsible.
The prosecutor, Inspector Femi Oluwadare informed the courtroom that the defendant allegedly dedicated the offences on June 10 at Agricare Hatchery Firm, Oluyole in Ibadan, Oyo State capital.
Oluwadare alleged that the defendant’s negligence led to the theft of three,715 litres of diesel value N4, 272, 250 belonging to the aforementioned firm.
He alleged that the defendant uncared for his obligation as a safety guard on the aforementioned firm, and thereby enabling thieves to steal the diesel.
The prosecutor mentioned that the offences contravened Sections 390 (9), 515 and 516 of the Felony Legal guidelines of Oyo State, 2000.
The Justice of the Peace, Mr Maruff Mudashiru, granted the defendant bail within the sum of N500, 000 with two sureties in like sum.
He adjourned the case till Aug. 8 for listening to.
