Borno State governor, Babagana Zulum, has transmitted energy to his deputy, Alhaji Umar Kadafur, to function performing governor of the State in his absence.
An govt communication learn by the Speaker of the Borno State Home of Meeting (BOSHA), Hon. Abdulkarim Lawan, throughout an emergency session of the Home on Friday, mentioned Governor Zulum will likely be continuing on a one-month trip.
Hon. Lawan famous that the motion of the governor was in accordance with the related provisions of the 1999 Structure of the Federal Republic of Nigeria (as amended), including that Kadafur will act as governor from June 10 to July 8, 2024.
“Borno State Home of Meeting has acquired an Govt Communication informing the Members of handing over the affairs of actions of the workplace of the Govt Governor of Borno State to the Deputy Governor,” Lawan said.
The Speaker added that the transfer was mandatory to make sure the continuity of governance and clean working of the affairs of the state within the absence of the governor.
The governor recommended the cordial working relationship and understanding between the Govt and the Legislative Arms of presidency within the State.
Recall that Governor Zulum had throughout his first tenure equally transmitted energy to his deputy, Alhaji Umar Kadafur, throughout which he carried out the annual Hajj train.
In the meantime, the Home chief, Hon. Dige Muhammad, representing Kala Balge state constituency, moved a movement for the Home to proceed on a recess and return on July 9, 2024, which was seconded by Hon. Yakubu Kimba of Biu State Constituency.
The movement was thereafter adopted by the Home and it adjourned accordingly.
