Governor Rena Lalgie introduced this afternoon that prosecutor Alan Richards was the latest Puisne Decide for the Supreme Courtroom of Bermuda.
She mentioned in a press release: “I’m happy to nominate Mr Richards to this vital function.
“Particularly, he brings precious information and perception from his intensive expertise together with his work with the Division of Public Prosecutions over the past 9 years.
“The judiciary holds an vital place in Bermuda as a separate and impartial department of Authorities which hears expenses of felony conduct, resolves disputes, upholds the rights and freedoms of people and preserves the rule of regulation.”
Mr Richards added: “I’m enormously honoured by this appointment and I sit up for serving the administration of justice in these islands on this function to the easiest of my talents.”
He’s anticipated to formally take up the place of Puisne Decide on September 1.
Mr Richards was Referred to as to the Bar of England and Wales in October 2004 and joined the Bermuda Bar in March 2015.
He has labored within the Division of Public Prosecutions since 2015 initially as a guide, then as Senior Crown Counsel and eventually as the primary Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions (Specialist).
